I am 58 years old and I am native to the remote community of Nueve De Octubre on the Ucayali River. I have six children and eight grandchildren. My husband is a teacher and a respected indigenous leader. Eleven years ago I left my community behind to move to the city to get a good education for my children. I started learning Shipibo art when I was eight years old with my auntie. With this work I can support my family.
